November 20, 2017, Vancouver, B.C. – The College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of British Columbia (CTCMA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Jonathan Ho as the new Registrar and CEO of the CTCMA.

Jonathan has been serving as Acting Registrar of the CTCMA since the departure of the previous Registrar, Dr. Mary Watterson.  Jonathan has been with the CTCMA since 2012.  Prior to becoming Registrar, Jonathan served as the Deputy Registrar of the College.  In that role, Jonathan was responsible for the registration, examinations and quality assurance programs. He also led a number of regulatory projects in areas of competency development, policy development, and compliance and risk management. He attended the University of Manitoba and is pursuing a Masters of Business Administration at the Edinburgh Business School.  Jonathan’s appointment as registrar is effective November 15, 2017.

“Jonathan has a strong record with the College from his time as Deputy Registrar,” said CTCMA Board Chair Dr. Ben Cao. “With a deep understanding of both regulation and the practice of traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture, the Board is confident Jonathan’s experience and education will be a great asset to the CTCMA in his new position as Registrar and CEO.”

“I am excited to take on this new role with the CTCMA,” said Registrar and CEO Jonathan Ho. “The CTCMA is dedicated to ensuring the safe and ethical practice of traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture in BC.  I look forward to continuing to work closely with registrants, the public and the government to ensure the best care for British Columbians.”

The CTCMA is the official professional regulatory authority that regulates the practice of traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture in the province of British Columbia.  The College serves and protects the public interest by regulating and advancing safe, ethical and quality traditional Chinese medicine practice in BC.
