Priority access to COVID-19 booster vaccination available to community-based registrants

December 16, 2021

As part of the provincial effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the Immunize BC team has now shared the timeline and process traditional Chinese medicine practitioners and acupuncturists working in the community—categorized as “community health care workers”—to get priority access to COVID-19 vaccination booster doses.

In early January 2022, community health care workers will be invited to receive their booster, based on their interval from their Dose 2 vaccination.

For traditional Chinese medicine practitioners and acupuncturists, this will apply only to registrants working in community settings. Registrants working in acute and residential care settings have already received information on accessing their booster shots.

If this applies to you, you will need to TAKE ACTION NOW to get a priority access booster shot.

The College also urges any registrant who has not yet been vaccinated to register with BC’s Get Vaccinated system to book their first appointment and encourage any unvaccinated office staff/colleagues to book their first or second dose.

The College sent information to registrants with details from Immunize BC on how to register for the community health care worker booster vaccination list. Please check your email in-box for ‘COVID-19 Booster Vaccination’, sent on December 16, 2021.

Registration for this booster program requires a special Target Population Access Code, which is included in the earlier emailed letter from Immunize BC. The self-identification code is confidential and intended only for health care workers. It is not transferable and anyone who is not eligible to use this code will be turned away at the vaccination clinic.

As noted in the email sent earlier, the College is relaying this information to registrants at the request of the Immunize BC team and is not able to respond to questions or provide any additional information beyond what is set out above. For more information about Immunize BC’s booster vaccination priority access program, please contact Immunize BC.
