Chang-Ming Li
Biography
Mr. Li has been a TCM practitioner and registrant of the College for close to 20 years. His interest in TCM stems from a long family history of practitioners, gained in particular at the knee of his grandfather whose array of dried plants and herbs piqued a young boy’s curiosity and interest in how these materials could help heal people. Today he is a proud general practitioner of TCM in the Lower Mainland.
He began his TCM education at the Tzu Chi International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Vancouver, discovering during that time that the translated TCM texts do not necessarily convey the principles associated with traditional Chinese medicine. He later switched to the TCM program at Langara College and has witnessed the growth of the profession since the 1980s.
Mr. Li’s career path prior to becoming a TCM practitioner included working as compliance principal with a major investment firm, providing him with a solid grounding in administration. This added expertise will certainly be a benefit during his term on the CTCMA Board.
As a new Board Member, Mr. Li is keen to see the public perception of TCM as a regulated profession continue to grow as a core component of healthcare in BC.
