Biography
Now retired from more than 40 years of clinical practice, Dr. Stevenson-Moore is a recognized leader in the area of oral oncology and was first appointed to the CTCMA Board in 2017. Much of BC’s progress and treatment successes in this specialty stems from his talent and leadership.
He trained as a dentist at Guy’s Hospital at the University of London. He graduated in 1971, was awarded his licentiate a year later and subsequently undertook education and training at the University of Washington in the specialty of prosthodontics.
Dr. Stevenson-Moore has authored numerous papers and articles, contributed to textbooks, served on the review boards of dental and medical journals, and undertaken hospital and faculty appointments including at both the BC Cancer Agency and UBC.
Dr. Stevenson-Moore remains active in organized dentistry at the provincial, national and international levels and is the recipient of many fellowships and awards, including the 2009 Distinguished Service Award from the Canadian Dental Association. His role with the CTCMA Board provides him with the opportunity to better appreciate the regulatory challenges faced by a profession other than dentistry and to develop inter-disciplinary collaboration with other healthcare providers in BC.
