Consultation on Practice Standard Draft: Ethical Practice and Professional Accountability

October 11, 2022

The College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of British Columbia (CTCMA) has drafted a new Practice Standard on Ethical Practice and Professional Accountability.

As part of the College’s commitment to being transparent, collaborative and fair, we regularly ask for input as we develop and revise our practice standards. Feedback from registrants and the public helps shape policy and is vital to the self-regulation of the traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture profession.

A practice standard lists out the required practice principles and requirements that a registrant MUST adhere to when they work as a regulated health professional. These principles are applicable to all College registrants who provide BC’s diverse population with care in various professional settings. The College also provides practice advice and recommendations for registrants to follow in the practice standards.

The proposed draft of the draft Practice Standard on Ethical Practice and Professional Accountability can be viewed by Clicking Here.

This is in English as with all College practice standards. The College provides translated practice standards when they are approved and in force. The survey is conducted in both English and Chinese. We encourage you to discuss with your peers and colleagues to understand the content of the proposed practice standard.

The survey is anonymous, by design, and only summary data and comments without identity information will be presented to the Quality Assurance Committee. It will take only a few minutes to complete the survey. Responses to the survey will be closed at 11:59 pm PDT on November 10, 2022 (Thursday).
